Why Spravato is only given in certified offices, and why that protects you.
Spravato is only available through a federal safety program called the SPRAVATO REMS. It means the medication goes only to certified treatment centers, you take every dose there under supervision, and a clinician monitors you for at least two hours afterward.

Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy.
REMS is the FDA’s way of letting a useful medication be used while managing specific risks. For Spravato, those risks are sedation, dissociation, slowed breathing, and misuse.
- Certified pharmacies may only send Spravato to certified treatment centers.
- Every dose is taken in the office, under a clinician’s supervision. It’s never sent home.
- At least two hours of monitoring follow every dose, including blood-pressure checks.
- Each session is recorded, as the program requires.
A little more structure, and a lot more safety.
- You come to us for every dose. That’s why office location and hours matter. Our four offices.
- You rest with us for two hours. Most people listen to music or doze. Someone from our team is always on standby if you’d like company.
- You don’t drive until the next day. Someone else takes you home.
- Nothing to store or keep track of at home.
Certified, and experienced.
All four of our offices are certified Spravato treatment centers, and our team has given more than 30,000 Spravato treatments under the program’s rules.
Spravato’s own website has a treatment-center locator; all four of our offices are listed.

REMS is about safety, not about you.
The program’s rules apply to everyone who takes Spravato. They aren’t a judgment about any one patient, and they’re a big part of why Spravato can be offered safely at all.
What people ask about the safety program.
What is the Spravato REMS?
A federal safety program that requires Spravato to be given only in certified treatment centers, with every dose taken under supervision and at least two hours of monitoring afterward.
Why can’t I take Spravato at home?
Because of its effects in the first hours after a dose, including sedation and dissociation, and its potential for misuse. The REMS requires every dose to be given in a certified office.
Are your offices REMS-certified?
Yes. All four of our offices, in Bridgewater, Morristown, Hoboken and Nutley, are certified Spravato treatment centers.
Why do I need someone to drive me home?
The label says not to drive until the next day, after a restful sleep, because your reactions can be slower than they feel.
